ANNUAL REPORT 2014-15

Hon’ble Chief Guest, distinguished guests, esteemed parents, Ladies and Gentlemen

On the happy occasion of the Annual Day Function 2014 I extend my hearty welcome to all of you. We deem it a great privilege to have all of you here on this solemn occasion.

I would like to take this opportunity to express our deep gratitude to the Chief Guest, Shri D. D. Agarwal, IAS, Commissioner, School Education, (M.P.) who has graciously agreed to grace the occasion by his august presence.  He is of firm conviction that good schools look to constantly improve upon their Instructional leadership, update their systems and processes and keep a constant focus on working on their curricula, Pedagogy and Assessment methods.  It is a foregone conclusion that this Vidyalaya will further carve out a deep niche qualitatively in all the curricular areas under his able guidance and patronage.

I also feel a deep sense of obligation towards Shri. Isampal, Deputy Commissioner, KVS Bhopal Region who has given his consent to preside over the function despite his other unavoidable occupations.  An ardent advocate of intellectual autonomy, a differential pedagogic pacing and integrated and inclusive education, he guides the teachers to contextualize a topic or concept and develop a global outlook in learners.

I also feel deeply indebted to Assistant Commissioners, KVS Bhopal Region Dr.  S.N. Sharma , Dr. B Kaur and Mrs JSV Lakshmi whose hearts always beat for perfection in every activity in this Vidyalaya.

I also feel a profound sense of obligation towards the members of VMC, Principals of KVs and other distinguished guests who have graced the occasion.  I am also thankful to the parents who have evinced great interest in the activities of the Vidyalaya.

Ladies and Gentlemen, on this occasion, I place before this august gathering a brief report of our Vidyalaya highlighting our success, failures and constraints.

01.  Class strength

The total number of students on roll from class I to XII is 2186.  The school has 48 sections.  There is an increasing trend in enrolment of girls and SC/ST candidates.

02.  Staff Strength

The Vidyalaya has a devoted band of 78 staff members.

03.  Academic Activities

Classroom instructions, tests etc. form a major part of academic activities.  A Vidyalaya Calendar is decided at the beginning of the new academic session and the same is followed in letter and spirit.  While the target of completion of courses for XII is October, for rest of the classes it is by January end.  The remaining periods are utilized for structured revision and making students aware of the pattern of questions and evaluation procedure.

04.  Co-curricular Activities

The school provides full opportunity to every child for his/her physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual development.  With this end in view ‘The House System’ has been introduced and all activities are organized house wise in the school in accordance with the programme chalked out well in advance.  All the students are divided in four houses namely, Shivaji, Tagore, Ashok, and Raman to conduct various literary, scientific and cultural activities.  Thus co-curricular activities form an integral part of the school education.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am happy to say that this Vidyalaya enjoys special privilege, being one of the recognized Kendriya Vidyalayas of Bhopal Region.  The school administration is very alive to the day-to-day problems of the students.  Time and again parents are counseled to realize the significance of regular attendance in school as it is a corner stone for laying sound foundation in academics.  Efforts are on to improve library, labs and other facilities.  I hope that with active co-operation from the members of VMC, parents and staff members we will be able to touch the zenith in all the fields.

At the end of my report, I once again express my sincere thanks to our Chief Guest and distinguished guests. Before I conclude, may I express hope that this function will go a long way in establishing a good rapport with all concerned and you all will carry home the pleasant memories of this evening?  At last, I seek your indulgence to bear with us the shortcomings if any.

‘JAI HIND’                                             (Mrs. Madhu Pandey)
